The country's wishing to adopt this westen practice is highlighted by the roaring trade in Valentines Day

Although Islamic clerics have termed this celebration as "Haram" or "forbidden", there is a signigicant demand for flowers.
The demand for flowers is beating the demand at
New Year and
Eid . Magnificent, fragrant
roses are of course in most demand.
In Pakistan streets you can see
florists with hearts in the windows, red
balloons, Valentines Day cards,
teddy bears, books of romantic
poems and other lovely
gifts .
Florists are anticipating phenomenal sales on February 14th.
Some keen individuals have even stocked lots of red roses in freezers so they are not short on this romantic day.
