The alternative Valentines gift, an acre of tropical rainforest

Tue, 31 Jan 2006

A special way of saying ‘I love you’ this Valentine’s Day has been unveiled by the World Land Trust. One of the most popular gifts is a red rose that will only last a matter of day. Instead you can buy a heart shaped chocolates and an acre of tropical rainforest in Ecuador. This gift will last considerably longer, in fact a lifetime and it shows how much you care for the preservation of the rainforests and the endangered species of orchids that are found there.

The gift pack contains a Valentine’s Day card and a certificate with your loved one’s name on it to tell them you have made a donation to buy an acre of tropical rainforest for them. To keep the love theme going, a 100g bar of Divine Fair Trade chocolate is also sent in the pack.

The whole pack is sent by Special Delivery to reach your loved one on Valentine’s Day morning.

To take advantage of this special offer all you need to do is make a £30 donation to the World Land Trust through their website (worldlandtrust.org) or over the telephone (01986 874422) using your credit card.

Please note that this offer is only available for delivery to those within the UK. The purchase can be made to another country but without the chocolate at a cost of £25.

Further information can be obtained from John A Burton, the CEO, World Land Trust on +44(0) 1986 874422 or email: jab@worldlandtrust.org.
